Shahenshah Hazrat Baba Tajuddin (ra)

Reverent Salutation:“Tajul Auliya, Tajul Millate Wa-Deen, Shahenshahe Haft Aqleem, Jalvah Gahe Jamale Lam Yazli, Hazrat Syed Muhammad Baba Tajuddin Auliya (ra).” (“Crowning Glory of the Saints, the Muslim Community and Islam as a whole, Vanguard of all the Seven Spiritual Dimensions, Manifested Image of Allah the Immortal, His Grace Syed Muhammad Baba Tajuddin Auliya (ra)”).

Born in Madras, Baba Sahib (ra) lived most of his adult life in Nagpur. The latent saint-like qualities of Baba Sahib (ra) were evident from his early childhood days. These potentialities blossomed greatly after his meeting with a Sufi Saint, Hazrat Abdullah Shah Qadri (ra). It is narrated that this Sufi Saint chewed some dry fruits and then gave them to the (then) young Baba Sahib (ra) to eat. The experience invoked a state of spiritual absorption (Istaghraaq) that continued and increased in intensity, over time.

Later in life, another miraculous experience happened to Baba Sahib (ra). On one of his many visits to the shrine of Hazrat Dawood Makki (ra), while reciting the Holy Quran, he heard a divine call three times that commanded him, “Ask: whatever your wish, it will be granted.” At first, he kept quiet. Upon hearing the command the third time, Baba Sahib (ra) responded, “Lord, I only ask of Yourself from You.” The divine promise was fulfilled and he was granted everlasting Divine Union with His Lord, Allah Almighty. He would often say to his followers, “Dawood is to me, like I am to you.” His further life events and, in particular, interactions with Hazrat Ghous Muhammad Baba Yousuf Shah Taji (ra) have been described in detail in Sarkar Aala Hazrat (ra)’s book that he wrote, and named it Sarkar Namah.
