Ijazat-e-Kul | اجازتِ کل |
“All-encompassing permission.” (Literal meaning)
In Sufism, when a Sheikh-e-Kamil (Perfect Spiritual Guide) grants his Khalifa (deputy) permission to take disciples (Bay’ah) from others, it is called Ijazat-e-Bay’ah. Such a person is referred to as Sahib-e-Ijazat or “one who holds authority.” (Common contextual usage)
However, if a Sahib-e-Ijazat is granted complete permission by his Sheikh for all actions, it is referred to as Ijazat-e-Kull. (Contextual meaning)
